Hello everyone! I’m new here at Digimon Evolution, and this is my first ever Digimon Fan Fiction, so I may not be the best at it. I haven’t watched the show in a long time, but in the past few months, I’ve read summaries to each of the shows, Fan Fictions, and I remember the characters’ names and their Digimon partners. I’d appreciate it if no one ridiculed me or anything.
This story is going to be a Takato/Rika one. For some reason, I find it a very adorable couple, and I’ve had this Fan Fiction planned out for almost two weeks, and I decided that I need to post it somewhere, so I picked here. I would’ve posted it on Fan Fiction.net, but I just don’t know how to write a story there. The instructions are too confusing to me.
I’m probably boring the heck out of you for writing this, but I’ll just give you a little summery on what the story’s about:
Takato, Henry, Rika, and their other fellow Tamers are beginning ninth grade at West Shinjuku High. Takato has developed feelings for Rika, but is to afraid to ask her out because of fear of rejection. Rika is also in a similar position, but won’t admit that she has fallen for Takato. Henry has watched and observed them, and with help from the other Tamers, they make Takato and Rika admit their feelings for each other.
Crummy summery, I know, but it’s the best I have.
I hope you enjoy the story! ;D

Chapter 1: A New Year
“Takato!” A female voice echoed throughout the Matsuki household, “Takato, sweetheart, it’s time to wake up!”
A pair of ruby red eyes flickered open immediately. A fourteen-year-old boy with brown hair sat up and yawned. His name was Takato. Takato Matsuki, to be exact, and he was about to begin his first year of High School, at West Shinjuku High, along with his friends and fellow Digimon Tamers; Henry Wong, Kazu Shioda, Kenta Kitagawa, Jeri Katou, Ryo Akiyama, and the legendary Digimon Queen herself, Rika Nonaka.
Takato smiled as he slid out of bed and walked over to his closet. He dug through some clothes before finally deciding on what to wear. He couldn’t wait to see his friends, especially Rika, because he hadn’t seen her all summer. She had gone to New York with her mother, Rumiko Nonaka, a famous model in Japan, to visit some relatives there. Although they were far apart, they still kept in touch.
When Takato hadn’t been talking on the phone with Rika, he had been in the park with Henry and their Digimon partners, Guilmon and Terriermon. The two had talked about almost everything, but Takato had wished Rika was there. Hanging out at Guilmon’s shed with the rest of the Tamers just wasn’t the same without Rika threatening to kill Kazu, or turning down Ryo, or ready to attack Terriermon for calling her ‘pretty’ when she wore her hair down for the first time in front of all of them.
Takato sighed. He was glad Rika had convinced her mother to send her to the same school as him and Henry, instead of an all-girls school, like she had been planning to do. It just wouldn’t be right if all of the Tamers, minus Suzy, Henry’s younger sister, and Ai and Mako, Impmon’s Tamers, went to the same High School and didn’t meet with Rika until afterwards.
“Well,” said Takato to no one in particular, as he slipped on his infamous goggles and smiled at his reflection, “Here goes nothing.”
He snatched his backpack off the edge of his bed and made his way down the stairs and into the Matsuki Bakery.
“What ever happened to “Good morning, Mom!” and a hug?” asked Mrs. Matsuki, as Takato walked right passed her, snatching a bun from off the shelf and walking towards the door.
“Oh honey, he’s fourteen years old. Don’t you know it’s not ‘cool’ to show affection towards your parents?” Mr. Matsuki told his wife, making quotation marks in the air to exaggerate on the word cool.
Takato could’ve laughed out loud. His parents were talking about him as if he weren’t standing right there. How stupid did they think he was? They must’ve thought he had the brain of a squirrel or the IQ of a peanut.
His thoughts were soon interrupted when Henry and Jeri entered the bakery. Terriermon was resting on Henry’s head and asking if Henry would buy him some bread.
“How many times have I told you?” groaned Henry, “No means no!”

“But Henry - ” began Terriermon, “ - I’m starving! I haven’t eaten all day! I think I deserve a little snack after helping you defeat that mean ol’ Candlemon.”
“It wasn’t even attacking us!” exclaimed Henry, “You insulted it! You deserved to get your ears burnt!”
“Yeah, but a little Terrier Tornado sure showed him!” retorted Terriermon with triumph.
Henry rolled his eyes.
“You’re too full of yourself.”
“No. My place in the group is just simply sarcasm. The role of the self-centeredness has been taken by Kazu.” Terriermon shot back.
“No. I think annoyance suits you better.” Renamon, who had appeared out of nowhere, stated.
“Ah!” yelped Takato, jumping back.
He looked around to see if any customers had come in. Luckily, no one was there except for the three Tamers and Terriermon. Takato sighed. His parents must’ve gone into the back to make some more bread.
“That’s mean!” pouted Terriermon.
“What are you doing here, Renamon?” asked Jeri, speaking for the first time.
“I was actually looking for Rika. Impmon told me he had seen her earlier at her house, but when I got there, Rumiko had told me that she had left for school already. Unfortunately, I do not know where West Shinjuku High is, and I was hoping that Rika might’ve stopped by here.” Renamon explained.
“Why would she do that?” asked Terriermon.
“Well, being a friend of Takato’s, I would certainly think she would’ve.” Renamon explained calmly.
“Well, she didn’t come here.” said Takato, “We were just leaving for school. You could come with us if you’d like, to see if Rika’s there already.”
“No thank you.” replied Renamon, “I’ll just wait until she gets back.”
And with that, the fox Digimon disappeared.
*
When Takato, Henry, and Jeri arrived at West Shinjuku High School, they found a crowd of students surrounding the entrance. Kazu, being one of the people in the large crowd, spotted Takato and ran over to them. Kenta and Ryo followed quickly behind.
“Hey!” said Kazu, “Did you guys see Rika?”
“Huh?” Takato and Henry responded in unison.
“What do you mean?” asked Jeri.
“I mean, have you guys seen her yet?” repeated Kazu.
“No, why?” asked Takato.
Kazu didn’t reply thought. His eyes suddenly went as wide as saucers, and his mouth opened but nothing came out. He pointed to something behind Takato.
“Because she’s right behind you!” He finally replied.
Takato whirled around and found himself face-to-face with none other than Rika Nonaka. But it wasn’t the Rika he had said goodbye to when she left for New York at the end of June. No … it was Rika, but she was drop dead gorgeous.

She wore her hair up in it’s usual, trademark, ninja-styled ponytail, and wore a sleeveless orange top with the words “I love N.Y.C” on the front in black letters. But instead of saying the word love, it just had a pink heart instead.
Rika wore a black jacket over the shirt, and a pair of dark blue jeans with a black belt and a pair of red and black shoes. She also wore two red wristbands on each of her wrists.
“Rika!” exclaimed Takato, “It’s you! You’re here!”
“I missed you too, Goggles.” Rika responded sarcastically.
“Wow Rika!” said Terriermon, “You look like a girl!”
Everyone sweat-dropped. Little black Xs appeared on Rika’s forehead, and the background suddenly went a dark shade of blue before she finally screamed:
“I AM A GIRL YOU STUPID EXCUSE FOR A DIGIMON!”
“Wow, she’s mad.” said Kenta, adjusting his glasses and watching as Rika chased Terriermon around and threatened to beat the tar out of him.
“Well, her appearance may have changed somewhat over the summer, but deep down she’s still the tough and extremely hard-to-get Digimon Queen we’ve all come to know and love.” said Ryo.
“Ahh! Henry! Help me!” yelled Terriermon.
“Sorry Terriermon, you’re on your own this time.” laughed Henry.
Terriermon dodged Kazu and flew over Takato. Rika, not watching where she was going, crashed right into him and the two landed on the ground. Terriermon landed on Henry’s head and watched as Rika and Takato shared a little staring contest.
“You have beautiful eyes.” Takato blurted out.
Kazu and Terriermon cracked up. Kenta chuckled a bit. Ryo was now fuming with anger, while Henry and Jeri telepathically exchanged brilliant ideas.
“Uh … ” was all Rika said as she stood up and helped Takato to his feet.
The bell rang, startling the seven students.
“Well, lets go inside.” said Henry.
“Can I come to?” asked Terriermon.
“No!” snapped Henry, “Go hang out with Guilmon at the park.”
Terriermon began to object, but thought against it when he received a death glare from Rika. He smiled nervously and soon ran off.

“Good morning class, I am your teacher, Mr. Toshiro.” The teacher greeted as he entered the classroom.
Henry sat at the front of the class by the window, while Takato sat behind him, and Rika sat at the back beside Ryo, who sat behind Kenta, who sat behind Jeri, who sat beside her friend Nikki, who sat in front of Kazu. There were also a lot of other students in the class, but the author of this story was too lazy to make up more names for them.
After twenty minutes or so, Mr. Toshiro had given them all an assignment to do.
“Hey Goggles!” whispered Rika, jabbing Takato in the back with the tip of her pencil, “What describes me best? Mean, Nice, Beautiful, or Stubborn?”
“Uh … Umm … Stubborn!” replied Takato.
“WHAT?” hissed Rika, “You think I’m stubborn? I’ll show you stubborn when I kick your butt after school!”
“Miss Nonaka, is there something you and Mr. Matsuki would like to share with the rest of the class?” asked Mr. Toshiro.
“No.” snapped Rika.
“Didn’t your mother ever teach you to respect your elders?” asked Mr. Toshiro, “Go to the office, Miss Nonaka.”
“Whatever.” said Rika, standing up and making her way out of the class.
“You too, Mr. Matsuki.”
“WHAT? Why?” asked Takato, “I didn’t do anything!”
“Don’t take that tone with me, Mr. Matsuki. Go to the office now!”
Takato’s ruby eyes narrowed into a hateful glare. He stood up quickly and stormed out of the classroom, catching up with Rika in the hallway.
“I can’t believe you called me stubborn!” snapped Rika, “Me! Rika Nonaka! Stubborn!”
“I - I didn’t mean it!” said Takato, “I just couldn’t think of anything else!”
Rika stopped and turned to face him. Again, she got lost in his beautiful ruby red eyes.
‘Wait!’ Her mind screamed, ‘Could I be falling for Goggles? No … that’s impossible. He loves Jeri. But … his eyes are so beautiful. I could stare into them forever.’
“Rika? Why are you looking at me like that?” asked Takato, backing away from Rika, who was staring dreamily at him. Without realizing it, Rika pinned Takato against a locker and kissed him. Henry, who had pretended to have to the bathroom, only saw Rika pinning Takato to the locker (his locker, to be precise) and kiss him.
“Whoa!” he exclaimed, turning around and heading back to class.
Rika pulled away from Takato with a horror-stricken look on her face.
“I’m so sorry, Takato!” she said, “I don’t know what came over me.”
“It’s … okay.” said Takato.
“But if you tell anybody about that, I will hunt you down and kill you!” she threatened, “Come on! The principle’s waiting for us … ”
*
No, they’re not together already. I just HAD to make Rika kiss him. But don’t worry, they won’t admit their feelings to each other for a while. I’m tired. Good night!

Chapter 2: Back to the Digital World
(This is Princess1Randi by the way.)
After receiving a lecture and a detention from the principle, Takato and Rika made their way back to class in silence. They entered the classroom quietly and returned to their seats, not noticing the strange stare Henry was shooting in their direction. Mr. Toshiro grunted in annoyance before turning back to the blackboard and continuing to write paragraphs on it.
The bell rang at approximately twelve o’clock to signal lunch. Takato gathered his belongings and rushed out of the classroom, heading strait for the cafeteria … even though he had no idea where it was. Henry and Jeri stared after him.
“Does he know where he’s going?” asked Ryo.
“I have no idea.” Kazu replied.
Just then, they saw Takato being carried away by a tall looking boy, much older than them. He was very muscular, and not the kind of guy you’d want to mess around with. The Tamers watched in shock as the guy picked Takato up and threw him into a nearby trashcan, before walking away.
Henry and Kenta ran over to help Takato out of the trashcan.
“What did you do to get him so mad, Takato?” asked Henry.
“I, uh, bumped into the guy and knocked him over. I said sorry afterwards, but he just got angrier and carried me over here, and … well, you saw what happened.” replied Takato, wiping off his shirt.
“Who was he?” asked Kenta, pushing up his glasses.
“His name’s Yukiko Yen.” said Rika, “He was one of the last people I had to go up against in the Digimon Tournament.”
“Then why doesn’t he throw you in a garbage can?” asked Kazu.
“He probably knows I’d kick his butt to the moon before he gets the chance to.” replied Rika, smirking and folding her arms across his chest.

“I’ll believe that when I see it.” snarled Kazu, “Did you get a good look at that guy? He’s ten times bigger than you!”
“C’mon guys, let’s just go to the cafeteria and get something to eat. I’m starving!” said Jeri. Everyone agreed and they all made their way to the cafeteria. Before Takato entered, Henry grabbed his wrist and pulled him back.
“What the - ” began Takato, but Henry cut him off.
“I saw you two.” said Henry.
“What?”
“You and Rika. When you were heading down to the principle’s office. I saw you and her … kissing.” said Henry, “On my locker to boot!”
“She kissed me!” said Takato, “I had absolutely nothing to do with it!”
“Do you like her?” asked Henry.
“Of course, she’s one of my best friends.” replied Takato.
“No, I mean do you LIKE her.” explained Henry.
“I … I … uh … I guess.” answered Takato, blushing a deep shade of scarlet.
“Then ask her out.” suggested Henry, “I mean, if she kissed you in the hallway for no apparent reason, then she must have a crush on you too.”
“No way … she was probably imagining Ryo the whole time.” sighed Takato.
“Rika doesn’t like Ryo. Ryo likes her. Rika thinks Ryo is her sworn rival and has made a decision to defeat him in everything he does. She wouldn’t care if he walked off a cliff and died. Why? Because she likes YOU.” Henry explained.
“No she doesn’t!” snapped Takato.
Henry realized that he wasn’t going to get anywhere with this conversation, so he just flung his arms up in the air in defeat and entered the cafeteria. Takato stood planted to the ground for a few seconds before entering after him.
“Takato!” yelled Jeri, “We saved a seat for you!”
Takato smiled weakly and made his way over to the table and sat between Kazu and Rika.

Takato smiled as he made his way home after school. Aside from Henry refusing to talk to him all day, the rest of the day went by pretty well. Rika’s kiss had caused fireworks to explode in his stomach, even though it had only lasted for a few seconds. It was his first kiss, and it felt great.
Suddenly, a beeping sound went off in his pocket. Takato shook his head and stuffed his hand into his pocket, pulling out his D-Ark. He grinned sheepishly and followed the blinking light for fifteen minutes, before stopping in front of Guilmon’s shed. He looked up and found Henry, Jeri, Ryo, and Rika already standing there.
Kazu and Kenta arrived soon after with Guardromon and MarineAngemon. Renamon appeared beside Rika, Terriermon rested on Henry’s head, Cyberdramon stood beside Ryo, and Suzy ran over to Henry with Lopmon held tightly in her arms.
Guilmon walked over to Takato and smiled childishly.
“Look!” said Jeri, “A light is coming from Guilmon’s shed!”
Just then, a soccer ball flew over and bounced off Terriermon’s head, before landing on the ground with a thud. A girl who looked about their age, maybe younger, walked over to them and muttered a small apology.
She had shoulder-length blonde hair with pink streaks in it, and was wearing a light pink tank top with a black zip-up sweat shirt over it. She was wearing dark blue jeans and had white and blue running shoes.
“Sorry about that,” she said, “My friend has lousy aim when it comes to kicking a soccer ball.”
Just then, a second girl appeared beside the first. She had long, wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a black shirt with a long-sleeved red one underneath, and a pair of black jeans. She wore black skater shoes and quite a few rings on each of her hands.
“Oh be quiet,” she snapped at her blonde friend, “Soccer’s just not my thing.”
The blonde giggled and rolled her eyes.
“Oh, look, it’s those kids that were on TV the one time.” said the brunette.
Everyone sweat-dropped.
“Hi!” said the blonde, “I’m Miranda Laurence, but my friends call me Randi. And this is my friend, Jackie Simmons.”
“Aren’t you afraid of us?” asked Terriermon, “I mean, we’re monsters!”
The brunette snorted with laughter.
“Afraid of you? No way! My brother’s scarier than you.”
Just then, the light from the shed began to grow larger, and larger, finally engulfing all eleven kids.
