Kari felt as if she was in a sea of pain…. She looked at her hands. She saw blood on them…. the blood that dripped down…down…down onto her clothes. She felt so much pain… Ken is dead….dead because of me…because of me…me…Ken…Kari shook her head, but she couldn’t get the thoughts out of her head…. She shook her head. She kept telling herself Ken’s not dead! Tai said he’s going to be okay! But is he? How do you know Tai’s right? No! I gotta believe! She looked down at her hands again… the blood, on my god… so much blood…..Kari blocked her ears with her hands and shut her eyes tightly.”KAAAAHHHHHhhhh!” Kari screamed, and started sobbing hysterically. Yolei rushed towards her. “Kari! What’s wrong?!” “The blood… make it stop!” she said hysterically, breaking down completely.
Yolei had never felt so scared in her life. Not even when they were fighting Malomyotismon in the Other World. At least, even though she was scared, a deep, deep part inside her knew that she was going to be okay because she was with her friends. Now, she was not so sure if Kari and Ken were ever going to be together with the rest of the group ever again. She studied Kari carefully. She was screaming about something… blood? Yolei saw no blood anywhere. What was wrong with Kari?
Izzy felt very awkward running towards the waiting room where everyone was with Joe and Ken’s panic stricken parents. When Joe and he had arrived at Ken’s home, they had, indeed, a very awkward conversation with Ken’s parents before they got the whole story; Ken was in an accident and was in the emergency room fighting for his life as doctors tried to save him. Everyone had agreed, even the doctors, that the best way to break the news to them was in person, by people they knew were their son’s friends, because of the all events that had happened over two years ago involving the digital world. Naturally, Joe and Izzy were the choice, since the others seemed in bad shape. Izzy felt that the first thing they needed to do was to speak with Ken’s doctor to know what his progress was. He ran to the front desk and asked if Ken Ichijouchi was out of the emergency room yet. The nurse seemed to take forever as she looked through her clipboard. “Yes he is, would you like to see him now?” she said finally. “Oh my god! My son! Please let him be okay!” his mother burst out.
Flashback~ a few minutes ago~
“Ahem….” Everyone looked up. The doctor was standing there. Kari jumped up. So did Davis. “Is he okay?!!!” both of them shouted together. “Shush! We need to hear this!” shouted Matt and T.K. “…Ken is in excellent condition now, and I am really amazed that we were able to stabalize his heart so easily after such a big accident.” Everyone cheered. They absolutely went crazy. The doctor cleared his throat. Everyone calmed down gradually. He went on. “As I was saying, Ken’s heart is stabalized now. He still needs lots of time to recover, he does have many injuries, including a concussion, broken leg, fractured elbow, and as I said before, slight heart failure. But he is just fine now, for the time being. We still need to keep him here probably a few more days, a week at the most. I’m still amazed at how easy the boy was to save, since usually, an accident like his can knock an average man out permanently. But I’m still not sure why there was a slight heart failure. That seemed to be the biggest damage, which is peculiar since most of the impact was concentrated in the lower body parts, like the leg bones. In a few minutes, he should be waking up, so you can go see him now if you'd like."
