......It was Ken...
T.K. felt so miserable as he watched Kari cry her heart out in the hospital’s waiting room. Kari had been crying for hours, ever since the accident. The accident that had come so close to claiming Ken’s life. The whole group had come to the hospital, except Joe and Izzy. They had gone to break the heartbreaking news slowly to Ken’s parents. Any moment now, they would be back. T.K. stared down at Kari, who was still sobbing. How would she deal with meeting them? Did Joe and Izzy tell them Ken almost died saving Kari? A girl whom they only met twice? What would their response be? Would they blame it all on her? If they did, T.K. had a horrible feeling in his stomach that Kari would just break down completely and try to do something serious, things T.K. would rather not think about. Suddenly T.K. felt surging anger towards Ken. Why did he save her? If it had been someone else, anyone else, even him, she wouldn’t be so miserable. She would at least be in her sane mind. No, how could he think that? Kari was so gentle, so kind, she would be the same even if any member of the team had gotten hurt. Ken was like that too. They were perfect for each other. T.K. felt a searing pain in his heart. he turned away, he couldn’t watch her now. He was afraid he would confess all his true feelings to her. She would be too pressured. He already knew that she loved Ken. And Ken loved her. T.K.’s cheek felt wet. He made no move to wipe his tears. The tears that had been bottled up in his soul for so long. Ever since he had lost her forever to Ken…..
Flashback~ to more then a two years ago. T.K. and Kari are sitting on a park bench, talking.
“Wow! Thanks T.K! it’s so adorable! I’ll treasure it for life!” T.K. smiled. Kari seemed much better after yesterday’s anguish. He had just given her a giant stuffed animal that said “I love you,” written on it’s heart and actually said it when you pulled it’s ear. He watched her laughing and playing with it and felt a painful longing in his heart. He had not even been given the chance to confess he loved her, before he found out that she loved Ken. And Ken loved her back. He couldn’t say it to her now. That would pressure her, and right now, he wanted her to be as happy as possible. Why? Because in five days, she was moving to New York with her family. He took something out of his pocket. “Um Kari, can you tie this around your eyes?” he said to her. It was a blindfold. “Huh? Why T.K.?” “It’s a surprise,” he said to her, grinning. Kari smiled that angelic smile of hers that always made T.K.’s heart turn over and said nothing as she attempted to blindfold her eyes. “Here, let me help,” said T.K. gently. As he bent down to help her, she flipped her hair back. It seemed like the world was slowing down for T.K. as her hair floated down, so soft and silky….
