* means the character is thinking *
Hiro still could not believe what had happened to him in 6th period. Detention for cussing in class! It wasn’t his fault! The stupid guy newt to him was so annoying! He angrily stomped towards the detention room. The halls of the school had been empty for some time now, and he was “accidently” late for detention. He knew the detention teacher couldn’t do anything to him. The detention teacher had a reputation for falling asleep even before the students came. Hiro woudn’t have gone, but he had to get his form signed. Or he would have a month more of torture. *I’ll get the stupid thing signed, then sneak out*
He kicked open the door of the detention room and looked around. There were only two more kids besides him. He scowled and took a seat in the back. The teacher, predictably, was sleeping. He got his form out and started towards her. “Don’t bother, we tried that already,” said the other kids. “She’s so deeply asleep, we can’t wake her up,” they said miserably. Hiro scowled again. *I’ll just wait then.*
He was just about to take out his game boy when she heard someone else enter the room. He looked up, surprised. Someone more late than him? It was a girl, and she looked about his age, maybe a year younger. She had long bourgandy-red hair and the most greenest eyes Hiro had ever seen. She wore the school uniform, of course, as he was, but he thought it looked better on her than some of the other girls. *Maybe it’s her eyes* She took one glance at the teacher and frowned. Then, she took a seat in the back, three desks away fron Hiro.
Hiro peeked a look at the green eyed girl every now and then. For some reason, she caught his interest. Not romantically, but he found her mysterious. She kind of had this aura around her, kind of a cold feeling. Hiro decided that she seemed to have cold beauty. She also looked very bored. Suddenly, as if she sensed his gaze, she turned, and their eyes met. Hiro didn’t know why, but he shivered inwardly under her gaze. He kept telling himself, *it’s her eyes*
After a while, he noticed she was fiddling with something in her bag. Then, it fell to the floor. She picked it up quickly, but Hiro’s quick eyes saw what it was. It was a D-power with a green strap. How did Hiro know about a D-Power? Because he had one too.
Kyra felt very annoyed. *Why does that guy keep staring at me? Maybe because I dropped my D-Power? No, I picked it up too fast for him to notice. Maybe he’s just trying to pick a fight. just ignore him.* She yawned. *When is the stupid teached going to wake up?*
Just as she was thinking about just leaving, the teacher woke up and yawned. The kids except the kid with black hair cheered. He just had an expression of anger mixed with relief as he stood up to get his form signed. Then he stared at her again while waiting for his turn. Kyra felt her patience running out. *I’ll just forge the signature* and she left.
Hiro frowned. Why had she left? He wanted to ask her about her D-power. He’d had his for about five months, back when his foster parents decided to move to Highten View Terrace. Then about a week ago, they moved to Odaiba. At first, he didn’t know what the gadget was, but he soon figured it out with help from a friend in America, Willis.
Willis had told him there was a big group of Digidestined living in Odaiba, that they didn’t know about him, and only one had the kind of digivice he had. Some kid named Jason Brown. That was a long time ago and they had lost touch.
Could it be that there was another tamer in Odaiba besides him and that Jason kid? And if she was, why had she been chosen? He guessed that he had been chosen because he was an expert at the digimon card battle game, and he knew Jason was too, since he was in the top 3 in the Digimon World Battle in last year’s competition.
But why did that girl have a D-power? He had never seen the girl at any competitions, or anywhere else, for that matter. He definitely had to find out who she was. He smiled. *All I have to do is persuade Tio to get me her file….*
